Blotchy

Photo of the top of Sky Tower with a row of green trees in front of it and white wispy clouds in the background.

Blotchy white patches,
watercolours on canvas—
night clouds glow with rain.

Fresh

close up photo of a thin layer of moss on an old tree stump

Tiny specks of green;
damp tree stump gets a jacket
all glossy—fresh moss.

Flowers

Photo of white-petal flowers strewn on a green lawn., with dried and brown leaves along the edge.

Scattered in our parks
life, dying and decaying—
little white petals.

Litter

photo of a hospital wristband lying on a bed of decaying leaves

Hospital gardens:
good people make bad choices;
littering wristbands.

Secrets

Photo of two tombstones in a cemetery with trees and plants around them.

Chamber of the dead;
while life bustles overhead,
entomb old secrets.
