Wonder

When I read this week’s photo prompt, I was ecstatic. Because I look up so much that I often forget to look where I’m going. Thekkady was no different.

The Periyar Tiger Reserve was, in fact, a forest. I gazed down, around, up, and all over in wonder, with my mouth wide open. And like all forests, there were more trees than I could capture.

I tried, though.

Contrast in One

I always felt uncomfortable to look at similar colors in close proximity. Like pink and red, orange and gold, yellow and gold–you get the idea.

But then, during my visit to Nepal, I saw this in an antique shop. It looked to me like a bunch of wall-hangings, and the colors jumped out at me. Under normal circumstances,  the entwined warm colors would have thrown me away. But perhaps it’s the subtlety of the material, it looked beautiful.

Sole Mates

I’ve had some pretty good adventures. I’ve made a few trips, walked more than few miles, and even pulled some good ol’ all-nighters.

And all along, one pair has been with me. One pair that’s seen all I’ve seen, and been everywhere I’ve been. My partners, my sole mates.

Talk ‘Bout Curvy

I’m still hungover from my not-so-recent (anymore) trip to Sikkim. And it’s not so surprising that this week’s prompt reminded me the earthly curves I saw from above.

Air

We don’t often realise, but the world isn’t as corrupt as we think it is. Sure, there’s a lot of cheap politicians, crappy streets, smelly alleys, unclean water, and even contaminated minds.

But there’s also beauty. There’s clean and detoxing air. We just have to look in the right places for purity. Like the sky through an aeroplane window.
