Felled

Photo of a pine tree as seen from below.

Dreaming of the skies
we run amongst giant trees
felling them for gains.

Naked

photo of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House on a partly cloudly winter morning
Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Sydney

Sans make up, sans bling,
when the paparazzi leaves
Harbour Bridge remains.

Winter crop

Close up photo of a single chile that’s been grown in winter. The chile is long and creased heavily at the top, with ridges in its stem resembling a pair of eyes.

Unseasonal growth
bringing unsavoury looks
cold weather chile

Close up photo of a yellow and purple flower in a bush.

Leads by example:
the flower first to blossom
amidst bush of buds.

Silence

Photo of an empty train station with a heavy fog hanging in the distance.

Small town existence
the silence of the morning
echoes through the fog.
