Warm spring afternoon
a rainbow in my backyard:
the spider flower.

Bowed
Head bowed solemnly;
an existential crisis
overwhelms a rose.
Fresh
A tear drop or two,
refreshes the mind and soul;
garden after rain.
Celebration
Christmas comes early;
baubles on suburban trees:
red bottlebrushes.
Wave
Nature’s cheerleader:
waving red-green pom-poms high;
weeping bottlebrush.
