Beauty

Unwarranted life,
blemish in a perfect world,

Closed loop

Fed by sun and rain—
feeding gold honeyeaters—
bright bottlebrushes.

Looks

Pointy and scary
buds looking mean, aggressive—
give way to flowers

Survivor

In sunshine and rain,
amongst resilient weeds,
perseveres a rose.

Attractive

Laws of attraction:
drawing in those who pass by—
