Present

Photo of the Sky City tower as seen from the street, tree branches covering most of the tower from view.

Like giant towers
city centre attractions
lies—hidden, not gone

Leafless

Photo of a row of leafless trees in a park as seen through the window of a bus.

Long and lanky ghosts
standing still outside my bus
brittle and leafless

Magnificent

Photo of the setting sun just visible from the top of a hilly road, looking down on the ocean.

Magnificent sun
watching over our city
photographer clicks

Party

Photo of the sun set behind a row of leafless trees, as seen from across the street.

Sunsets winter nights
rows of trees and disco lights
gang’s here to party

Seeking

Photo of Rangitoto island as seen from the Takapuna beach. There’s a young boy walking on the shore and a couple of paddleboarders on the water on the distance.

We seek good fortunes
in the depths of our oceans
even at world’s edge.
