Give way

Wander round-about,
give way to scorching summer
and jacarandas.

Wonder

A jacaranda tree in bloom, its canopy slightly leaning over the road.

The leaning tower:
Adelaide’s summer wonder,
jacaranda blooms.

Habits

Photo of a person’s hand scrolling through the phone, while the person’s sat in the driver’s seat of a stationary car. The morning sun amines into the car, onto the person’s hand.

Morning ritual:
syncing music on Bluetooth—
sun smiles down at us.

Expressive

Photo of a trimmed, leafless tree with its branches spread in all directions.

Limbs spread out in joy;
master of self-expression—
a tattered old tree.

Grey

Photo of a jacaranda tree in bloom, against a grey and cloudy sky.

This drowsy spring day,
dotting grey skies in purple,
jacaranda blooms.
