Lingering

Photo of the bright orange of the sun, as it rises, with the photo capturing the silhouettes of two large trees on either side of the frame.

Wine-stained table cloth;
so vibrantly hungover:
sunrise in winter.

Dull

photo of the afternoon sun barely visible from behind a scaterring of clouds

Scattering of thoughts;
water balloons in the sky,
cold, overcast day.

Laze

photo of a golden retreiver sitting on a couch and looking over the back at the photographer, with only the dog's face visible

Saturday mornings,
you barely open your eyes;
true love wants a walk

A hit

Close up photo of a barista style coffee in a wide white cup.

Expecting a jolt,
I gaze into the abyss;
beautiful coffee.

Folds

close up photo of a bunch of bougainvillea on the plant

Folded up petals,
origami in nature;
bougainvillea.
