Chasing

close up photo of a small sunflower trying to bloom

We all try our best;
sunflower chases after
elusive sunshine.

Protection

Close up photo of the hills of saffron milk cap mushrooms.

Close-knit rib cages,
guarding treasures of the earth;
unbruised mushroom gills.

Playful

Photo of a tall Norfolk Island pine tree leaning to the side, but growing upwards.

Leaning to the side,
putting branches out of line—
a childish pine tree.

Land rights

Close up photo of the trunk of a Moreton Bay fig tree.

Prime real estate;
fig stands tall and down to earth,
reclaiming her place.

Shine

Panoramic photo of a large tree, with sunlight shining through the branches.

Deep in the forest,
a goddess stands majestic,
sun shines through branches.
