Try

Photo of a weak sun through the branches of a leafless tree.

Winter’s a tough time
we are all doing our best
even the weak sun

Seek

Photo of a clearing in a park, with tall trees. It’s morning and there’s a clear blue sky and the full moon from the night before.

There is a full moon
somewhere between the tree tops
reward for seekers

Sleepy town

Photo of the full moon at night and the silhouettes of tall trees.

All the world’s asleep
the full moon comes out to play
old trees babysit

Filter

Photo of the Auckland city as seen through a lace-curtained window on a high floor of a hotel.

We see through filters
a hazy distorted world
Instagram-worthy

Somewhere

Photo of a rainbow in the sky just after a light rain.

Over the rainbow
somewhere there’s a better world
our lives make sense there
