Brave new world

photo of the silhouette of non-native trees

Migrating species
head of curls, ideals new
landscapes so diverse

Changes

photo of a tree with new leaves sprouting

Day after winter

lemony picket fences

sprouting leaves catch sun

Transition

sky just after sunset with a street light in the corner

Flash of a street light
colours of the waning sun
between two seasons

We remember

closeup photo of a tree bark focussing on its peeled outer layers

Scarred marred unfettered
a lifetime’s worth of antics
muscle memories

Skyscraper

Love of high rises
destroys one for another
ambitious humans
