Artist

closeup photo of early morning frost on the leaves of a bush

Holiday hobby:
colouring inside the lines,
older child winter.

Remnants

photo of a giant tree bark with a large and wide base

Crumbs of life gather,
coat the crust of her remains—
a cracking pileup.

Distance helps

photo of bottlebrush plants a couple too close to the camera and blurry and the ones in the distance are clearer.

Placed overly close
problems, and even goodness—
blurry, unhelpful.

Gatekeepers

Photo of a large tree with its branches swaying tiwards the ground

Bouncers of the land,
sway to music in the air,
peaceful until sparked.

Value

a view of the ocean on a sunny day — Tamar Island, Launceston, Tasmania

A world of glitter,
opening eyes, horizons—
more precious than gold.
