Sails

Photo of the Auckland city skyscrapers as seen from the other side of the river.

Across the water
smugly the city awaits,
for us to sail home.

Sky Tower

Photo of the Sky Tower in Auckland lit up against a dark sky. — Sky Tower, Auckland

Lighting up the sky,
optimists’ beacon of hope—
casino city.

Clarity

Photo of the sunlight reflecting off of the Skycity tower in Auckland.

When the sunlight hits,
sudden exposure blinds you—
darkness becomes clear.

Magic

Photo of a boardwalk and a path on a mountain with flowering trees on either side of it.

A secret walkway
nestled deep in a mountain—
my magical aisle.

Kite

photo of the Auckland skyline as seen from the top of a volcanic mountain

As high as a kite,
standing atop a mountain—
wind beneath my wings.
