Yogi

photo of a large tree by the beach, bent and growing sideways because of the ocean wind

Going with the flow,
bending to avoid breaking—
a tree that survives.

Sleep

Photo of the sunset as seen though the window seat of an airplane.

Fare thee well, my sun,
hush now, rest your weary head,
the morning will wait.

Pleasures

photo of the almost-full moon and a large gum tree beside it, as seen from a balcony

A towering gum,
glowing full moon arising—
I don’t ask for much.

Waiting for weekends

photo of a golden retreiver lying on the floor, looking sideways

Sprawled out on the floor,
gazing at the sky, in love,
Thursday afternoons.

Bye

To new adventures
marked by departure lounges—
life full of richness.
