photo of scattered clouds against a blue sky

Splatter of colours,
cacophony on canvas—
cloudy summer’s day.

Beauty

close up photo of a dandelion flower in a garden patch

Unwarranted life,
blemish in a perfect world,
weeds are beautiful.

Closed loop

photo of a bottlebrush flower with the sunlight streaming through in the top right corner of the photo — Callistemon (commonly known as bottlebrushes), a genus of shrubs in the Myrtaceae family, endemic to Australia

Fed by sun and rain—
feeding gold honeyeaters—
bright bottlebrushes.

I spy

close up photo of a bird sitting on a railing at the Adelaide Botanic Garden, surrounded by trees

Among greenery,
in quiet contemplation,
human-watching bird.

Growing up

Storm clouds gathering,
taking off against the wind—
child leaves parents’ home.
