Speaking of Thirds…

Speaking of thirds

The Rule of Thirds, is one of my all-time favourite concepts in Photography. Also, it’s one of the few I know. :P

Anyway, here’s my attempt. What do you think?

The Retreat

I don’t know about your idea of a retreat, but mine surely looks like this. A comfortable (won’t say no to luxury either) roof over my head for the tired nights, and a bicycle to make the days worth living.

Of course, it all matters where I retreat to. In this case however, The Retreat is the hotel we stayed in during our visit to Pondicherry last year. I was nostalgically skimming through my photos when this caught my eye.

Flowering Pondy

The past two days was an epic experience. We went on a family trip to the city of Pondicherry, now commonly known as Puducherry. I spent a lot of time with my camera, learning and experimenting. I plan to write in detail about my trip, but for now, here’s a photo I took.

Do tell me what you guys think, I would love to hear your feedback.

Early mornings are beautiful anywhere. Pondicherry isn't any different.

Ancient Edge

Today’s prompt for the Photography 101 challenge was great – with a slight edge. My workplace being in a corporate campus, there are plenty of sharp-edged buildings around, but this particular photo from my trip to Mahabalipuram stood out. Ancient constructions are much more mysterious and thought-provoking.

The Glass Effect

Every day, I witness the sunrise from behind my office windows. All the photos I take are from behind these glasses. But one day, I went out to the terrace and saw this reflection on the opposite doors. The reflection came out better than the direct shot on my CoolPix.

And so, here’s my response for today’s Photography 101 Assignment: Glass.
