Eager to narrate
Beetle eyes alight, she spoke
to the empty room.
There comes a time
when you should choose
it may be new, may be raw
you may not like it
oh, but what if you do?
take the plunge
and make a choice
it might look weird,
awkward, and greasy
but who’s to say its not pretty
and a perfect circle?
Beware though: It’s unknown
it could make you regret
and reach for a cigarette
Or just become your favourite.
Either way — choose something
I’m hungry.

To write is —
to accept your right
to write, and write until
they accept you’re right.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you how much I love coffee
though it keeps me up at night
when I just want to sleep
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you how much I tried to quit
that I almost succeeded,
but always lost the will.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you it’s not an addiction
that it’s good for your health,
promotes metabolism and weight loss
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you I drink to stay in shape
but more so to stay sane.
Also to you, and your health.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you I can quit anytime
Can, though I’d rather not.
And smile at your raised eyebrows.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you how much I love coffee
And warn you to “drink up,”
Or pass the cup.
To write is —
to trick yourself,
into believing you can.
to show weakness,
and persist inspite of it.
to welcome shame,
with wide arms and smiles.
to string words,
that end up stringing you.
