Edit

Photo of a massive old tree with the summer sun falling on its trunk and canopy on a hot, blue-sky day.

High contrast; high warmth
the imperfect editor:
summer shines on trees.

Full bloom

Close up photo of a bush of purple agapanthus, with a new bud about to emerge.

Like a war, budding
agapanthus aggression—
bursting through summer.

Bound together

Close up photo of a peg on a clothes line, with a spider’s web around it, with the sun setting behind the pen and the web.

Peg on a clothes line;
invisible webmaster—
cohabitation.

Summer sunsets

photo of the sun setting in the horizon with pink and purple shades visible in the distance, through the silhouettes of trees

Masterful mixer
brews colourful concoctions—
splashes in the sky.

Roses

Close up photo of dead rose buds in the bush.

My garden finches,
appreciate laziness—
feast on spent roses.
