It’s My Life

I’m a loner, a solo player

who’s surrounded by none.

Cross-legged I sit and stare

perched on my pedestal above

There I sleep, eat, drink, and live

‘Cos I’m a loner, sailing solo

And my bed is my island.

Sole Mates

I’ve had some pretty good adventures. I’ve made a few trips, walked more than few miles, and even pulled some good ol’ all-nighters.

And all along, one pair has been with me. One pair that’s seen all I’ve seen, and been everywhere I’ve been. My partners, my sole mates.

Celebration-Worthy

Jubilance is victory. Something worth celebrating, or perhaps the celebration itself. Either way, where there’s happiness there’s wine.

And it’s extra special when you try to click a picture of the wine, and it turns out better than you had expected it to.

It’s Friday, and need I a better reason to celebrate?

The Masks we Wear

Remember the movie, “Mask”? The more I think about it, the more I realize that we wear many different masks in many different situations.

Sometimes we do it so much so that we even forget the real face behind the mask. Such is our fascination.

Tea Factor

I’ve spoken far too many times about tea in this blog. I can’t help it, it’s my poison. That, and coffee.

But I don’t cherish just the cuppa in my hand. I admire the entire process of tea estates, from plucking the leaves, and adding pressure to them, to pressing them to extract every essence of goodness. It’s such a sensitive job — to treat every leaf as a drop in someone else’s wake up call.

Morning tea is the most important part of my day. And I don’t believe in portion control. I try to do some reading while I sip my tea, but it never happens. When I sniff my tea, my mind goes blank and only tea matters.

I’ve visited a few tea estates in my life, lived in one of them too. It’s a divine feeling to walk amidst tea leaves at 6 am and get a whiff of the leaves, even months before they’re ready to go in my cup.
