Drink to me only…

The best thing about dining out—apart from the fancy interior and fine food—is the classy glasses. Add a straw and it makes me feel extra pampered—like a child.

My fellow diner was a colleague I didn’t know much about. We’d travelled together for a work event and had to share a meal one evening. And our choice of beverage, much like us, was so different. It was a nice moment of contrasting liquids.

There’s no place…

Though I don’t do it enough, I love travelling. Walking from one place to another, ducking under trees, listening to walls, hiking steep hills, and gawking at great sights—that’s when I feel most at peace. Exploring, that’s where I feel like I belong.

That which cannot be

As far as I knew, sassiness wasn’t Oakland’s specialty. And so I had to be there to see it for myself. If someone had told me that there’s a car in Oakland that’s beaded to the brim, I’d have said—no way.

Drawing the line

It’s weird how sometimes people never know where and how to draw the line. Although in this case, it looked to me as if the architect of the De Young Museum in San Francisco did a wonderful job of putting their toes out of the lines.

Up, up, and away

It was a bright and clear day. Great outdoors, but I had a lot of reading to do and some work to catch up on. Just the idea of staying tied to my computer when I could free myself and chase the air, made me sulk. I wished I was asleep instead.

As I sat on the bed unmotivated even by the brilliant book in front of me, I decided to grab some coffee. And thus began my awakening. After a quick search for the perfect restaurant for lunch, I started gulping down my liquid wake up call and finished my work. A day’s work done in a few hours.

Delatorre’s was perfect for authentic Italian food. Would recommend it, in case you’re ever in Pleasanton, California.
