Survivor

photo of green trees on an old volcanic mountain — Mt. Hobson, Auckland

Big, strong, luscious trees:
new growth on old volcanoes—
phoenix earth, prevails.

Lens

Close up photo of a camera lens, its filter attached.

Comes with two filters;
for another perspective,
eyes, our cameras.

Unknown

Photo of a ghost-shaped metal pepper shaker, its arms wide open. It's one of a set—the salt shaker that would slot into the arms is missing.

Longing for a home
like a doll in an op shop;
embrace the unknown.

Lengthy

Screenshot

Stretching miles along
exotic island coastline;
goodbyes to loved ones.

No silver lining

Photo of wispy clouds against a blue sky, as seen through the window of a plane. The plane’s wing is visible.

Fleeting characters:
passers by in my story—
clouds of all sizes.
