Gossiping

Photo of a giant tree with several branches extending out, as seen from the base of the tree.

Yawning and stretching
old trees hang around idly
gossiping with leaves.

Words of wisdom

Photo of two trees, one deciduous and leafless and another a Norfolk Island pine.

Beauty does not last
deciduous tree explains;
young Norfolk pine nods.

Relief

Photo of a walking path with tall gnarly trees on either side of it.

Twisty gnarly limbs
burst magnificently through,
Mother Earth rejoiced.

Flowy

Photo of the Auckland Sky Tower flanked by tree canopy on either side.

Luscious, green, flowy;
The Sky Tower gets a skirt:
Auckland City trees.

Lost

Photo of a tall light post and an even taller palm tree against the sunset in the background.

Sadly, head hung low,
outgrown by competition,
lamp post turns away.
