air and moisture feeding us,
like mushrooms we grow.

Today’s meagre catch:
two salmon, their eyes so wide
at their plastic home.
Shouldering
Pillars of a home,
standing tall and yet apart,
holding up the roof.
Adaptation
Old pine in new world,
migrant species learns to live—
we bend not to break.
Dying light
The sun disappears;
lights in street corners come on,
magic in between.
