Controlled greenery
fenced off private property
blues in the distance
Waiting

Sat plump and pompous
pillow clouds over grasslands
chicken on her eggs
Veiled

My storehouse still stands
blood orange alights the sky
a world in between
This post is my tribute to one of the first haiku I came across, by Mizuta Masahide. Because Masahide wrote in Japanese, there’re multiple translations of this particular piece. Here’s the one that inspired me:
my storehouse burned down
now nothing stands between me
and the moon above
~Mizuta Masahide
