Silence

A talkative girl she was,

who could never – not talk.

Speech was powerfully haunting

she taught others.

Many tried to talk her

into the power of silence.

She never gave in.

Time, had other ideas.

When I met her, she was

a mother – but not talkative.

Time had changed her

and her ability of speech.

She was now silenced.

Does silence come with worry?

I wondered – but then – maybe

Silence,  comes with maturity.

Shelter

She stands sturdy as a wall

rising high above staying tall

Her arms raised to the heavens

her cozy leaves comforting ravens

Looking upward she incessantly prays

while beasts below tear their prey

For their mothers; birds are crying

while the serpents, they are prying

decades many, she had unwaveringly stood

sheltering mankind that did her no good.

save trees!
