Popping over from the link you left at Today’s Author. I’m always amazed when two short sentences can tell an entire story like this. The image definitely helps as well. I feel a bit of peace along with a bit of sadness within the story — peace that he can provide some sort of comfort to her but sadness that she’s stuck in a hospital bed.
